Materials Depot

My dear friend Haejeong and I started volunteering at the Materials Depot at our kid’s school in 2019. It’s a large walk-in closet filled with donated recycled and reusable materials including craft and sewing materials no longer needed by families in the school. Every time I am in there, sorting away, I see teachers, kids, and parents “shopping” for materials to use in classroom or home projects. This weekend Hae and I organized a table for the Winter Green Fest with weaving projects large and small. All ages of kids dug in and created beautiful individual threaded cardboard shapes or contributed to our community weaving wall. It was a wonderful day!
